Fright Fest

Morgan went with her friend Abby to Six Flags for the Fright Fest. They had gone last year, too. This year they had fast passes and managed to ride the roller coasters 13 times! I get nauseous just thinking about all that! :)

14th Birthday Party (and a Herrick win at Lisle 36-8)

The girls invited their friends over to celebrate their 14th birthday. After we scheduled the party, the Herrick girls team scheduled a game at Lisle for the same night. So, some of the girls came with us to cheer them on and then we had the party afterwards at our house.

We did a cookout with hot dogs and hamburgers, had a dirty soda bar and painted pumpkins.

We had light up ice cubes for the drinks which were a big hit with the girls! (Btw, Morgan keeps saying she thinks she looks AI without her braces on!)

The girls went outside to play Ghosts in the Graveyard while Matt grilled out dinner.

After dinner, they opened presents. They were so excited to get a ton of candy and gift cards!

After that, they painted pumpkins. I bought a bunch of fake pumpkins on Amazon and they worked out well. Just the right size!

Milo had to be relegated to the back deck because he couldn't calm down. It was just too exciting having so many people in his house! :)

Then, they took lots of pictures with all of our old Halloween costumes and funny hats!

They ended the night by singing karaoke at the top of their lungs! Such a fun group of girls they hang out with! :)

Roadrunners SC N1 GU15

The girls are having a tough season after moving up to the higher division. There are five teams in their division and they are in 4th place. They played against the 5th place team tonight and won 3-0. We had heard that this 5th place team brought in some of their ECNL players since they were getting killed in this division, so we were a little worried.

Abby and Morgan cheesing it up after their big win!

They have one more game next week against the 3rd place team. We played them for our first game of the season and lost 4-1. We'll be down one of our strikers because she was injured in this week's game. :(

This is a pic of the full team from a game a weeks ago.

Front row: Lauren, Morgan, Nora, Elle, Jackie, Abby, Ceili
Back row: Katie, Julia, Ellery, Emily, Gia, Lynnea, Clara, Jules, Sydney, Josie, Lucy

No more braces!!!

It was a big day for Morgan... she got her braces off! I was surprised how fast they popped them off her teeth! As is typical, her gums are a little swollen, but that should resolve itself over the next month or so. She has a permanent retainer behind her bottom teeth and Invisalign type retainers to wear to sleep in. She got to sign the wall at the orthodontist and signed right by Grayson's name! :) They gave her a big bag of candy that she can now eat (but let's be honest, she was eating this stuff all along!)

Herrick at O'Neill MS (W 39-21)

Crosstown match-up against the south middle school, O'Neill. They were having a pink-out for Breast Cancer awareness, so the coach asked the girls to all wear pink undershirts. Strangely, the other team did not wear any pink (?). I'm terrible at taking pictures and videos. I did snap a pic of Morgan swishing a free throw!

Morgan is one of the five starters, but unless the game is super close most of the girls get some playing time. So, she plays maybe half of the game unless it's more competitive. The closest game we've had this season was against Bryan MS.

Herrick vs Jefferson (W 37-10)

A Herrick home game means we get to see Morgan play basketball and Avery cheer on the sidelines! Since the game was on a Monday night, the girls came home first (school gets out an hour early on Mondays). Avery and two of her friends got ready at our house. I managed to take no game photos of Morgan playing or Avery cheering. I did get a video of one of Avery's halftime cheer/dances.

Lynx Elite

Morgan got to sub on the Lynx Elite team for a shootout Saturday night. This is Coach Mark's team with his daughter and other freshman girls. They are really good and play against older girls. So, in the shootout, they were in the 17U division. Morgan was really nervous, but did great!
